Brief Team History

The Town and Village of Waterford, NY are situated at the point where the Mohawk and Hudson rivers meet.  Also, the Erie and Champalin canals along with their tributaries make water a place where water related activities become commonplace.  Unfortunately, with that attracts water-related emergencies such as drowning, boats in distress and boating accidents.

The Teams facility, off of VanDerwerken Avenue and on Davis Avenue in Northside, is currently the meeting place for the International Order of Odd Fellows.  It has been used as a training facility and meeting place for the Waterford Police Department.  Recently, the Team's building has been listed as a Cooperative Shelter for and by the American Red Cross.  Team members have received training in shelter management.  The Team has also hosted various CPR, First Aid, High Angle, Boater Safety, and other water related courses.  Local fraternal and church groups also have used the Team's facility for fundraisers, dinners, etc.  Additionally, the Tri-State Emergency Team building has been a polling place for the Town and Village of Waterford for all Federal, State, and local elections.
